About Our Family
We are a family of four…Mom, Dad, and two daughters ages 5 and 2. We spend our time remodeling our home, playing outside, and spending time together.
Dad Derek likes to run, having participated in several Houston Marathons. He is an operator/technician at a cellulosic ethanol plant in Jennings, LA. They are currently in research and development, but hopefully production will take off soon! He works a lot of hours now, as compared to his last job, and we miss him at home very much. Derek is a wonderful husband and father…a true family man!
Mom Shannon is a stay-home mom, meaning she doesn’t work outside the home, other than in the yard! But that doesn’t mean she doesn’t work! She is almost done repainting/refinishing her kitchen cabinets…thank God it is almost over! She enjoys reading and scrapbooking when she finds the time, and photographing her beautiful daughters. She has also been known to decorate a few cakes for birthday parties…another hobby she would love to explore further as time allows.
Older daughter Jenna turned 5 years old on January 2. She loves to make pictures and cards, play outside, ride her bike (without training wheels, mind you), help Mom in the kitchen, and take care of her Webkinz and Furreal pets. She is very imaginative, creative, artistic, and ambitious. Jenna will be starting Kindergarten in August, which she is so excited about.
Younger daughter Emily had her 2nd birthday last Thursday, May 1st. We all celebrated on Saturday with a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse party. She sang Happy Birthday to herself and loved “reading” her cards. Speaking of reading, Emily loves books…they are her most favorite thing. She will sit for hours and flip through as many as she can get her hands on. She has an amusing personality and is extremely articulate. I am sure that comes from having such a mommy for a big sister.
We thank God for a wonderful, happy, healthy family. He has blessed us so much…He is so good and faithful!
