Hello, out there!
I really haven’t forgotten blogging, honestly. The last time I posted, I reached my space upload limit…too many pictures!! I would have to buy a space upgrade if I continue uploading pics here, but I am reluctant to do that. I am considering switching over to blogger, like my cake blog. I like some of its features, but also still favor some of the features here. I really do love that blogger is easy to customize with free backgrounds, etc. So, I am putting off making a decision, mainly because I have so much going on right now. I do miss having a current blog, so I need to do something. I will keep you posted if there will be any changes. Thanks for reading and Merry Christmas!!

Exploration Days
A couple of weeks ago, we went to the lakefront for our Exploration Day. The girls fed the ducks, and then we walked the beach. Our science lesson that week was on beaches, seashores, waves, etc. So, although our little beach has much to be desired, the girls were still able to see what we learned about. They had a great time!

Carving Pumpkins
Last Sunday, we carved two little pumpkins that the girls’ grandma had bought for them. They were disgusted by what pumpkins look and feel like on the inside! But the faces ended up being cute, and later that night, we lit them and drank hot cocoa outside. Fun times!

Happy Birthday to me!
Day before birthday lunch at Cancun with Mom, Kara, Tori, Delana, Sydney, Leah, Derek, Jenna and Emily. They came and sang to me in Spanish and made me wear this incredibly huge sombrero. Funny.

Pink Poodle Skirt
My mom made Jenna a poodle skirt…she played in it one day last week and didn’t want to take it off! So cute!

Our hummingbirds

Well, we didn’t have as many as last year before the hurricane, but we had several that visited this year. We love watching them!
Playin’ with Tori
Tori came over to play for the afternoon a while back. They asked if they could put on make-up…and here is how it went.

Keepers at Home
Jenna is involved in a girls’ homeschool group called Keepers at Home. They learn valuable skills, crafts, and study scripture. The first meeting was cross stitching…and Jenna loved it!

Exploration Day
Each Wednesday, our curriculum calls for setting aside the books and having “Exploration Day”. They suggest little activities to do that relate to the science lesson we had on Monday. And then we are supposed to spend some time exploring God’s creation. Last week, we studied about trees. So, our activity was to make tree bark rubbings. It was so wet and nasty outside, not to mention how terrible the mosquitoes were, but we headed outside anyway. They made rubbings of the TWO trees in our yard and the fence. I wish we had more of a natural surrounding for them to explore, but we did the best with what we had!

Emily showing her science notebook.

We also found this very interesting moth near our front door. It stayed there all day long.
